Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, is the pre-Hispanic God creator of man and who gave man the corn. He is the most powerful God of Mesoamerica and is taken as a representative of our pre-Hispanic ancestral legacy that lives in us as Mexicans, being us also that Quetzalcoatl.

Quetzalcoatl is reborn and comes to remind us that we are Gods, a beautiful hybrid between our divinity and our humanity. Reminding us that we are the creators of our reality and we are capable of creating what we desire.

The philosophy of the piece is to express the rich ancestral heritage that Mexico has as a country, full of diverse cultures, traditions and rituals that remain to this day. To honor our pre-Hispanic heritage by sharing a bit of it through the most important Mesoamerican God.

This project was manifested in the desert of Black Rock City, Nevada to be part of Burning Man Animalia 2023.

The sculpture is made of 5/16 metal plate in its structure and has pre-Hispanic symbols in its feathers and scales, which have colored stained glass scales that with the sun reflected on the people passing by, symbolically transmitting all the ancestry and power that these symbols have.At night it was illuminated with LED lights showing its great majesty.

The tail is a corn honoring the delivery of Quetzalcoatl to man of such important and precious food, primordial base to this day.

The piece was illuminated with batteries that were charged in the Solar Library of Burning Man, through a structure with solar panels in which the batteries were charged to give energy to illuminate the piece. Therefore being illuminated with clean energy, solar energy.

We had medicine chants next to Quetzalcoatl in Burning Man and a cacao ceremony with the intention of sharing a little bit of the rich pre-Hispanic heritage of our beloved Mexico.
